Precision Rifle: (25-1000yds)

The precision rifle course will take you to a higher level of understanding in realistic long-range shooting. All of our instructors have experienced combat and teach from "real world" experience. Although ‘Kentucky windage’ is something familiar to any seasoned shooter, we will teach you the logic behind shooting accurately and hitting your targets within minute of angle consistently. From advanced wind calling to shooting for data out to 1000 yards, you will gain the confidence in yourself, your gun, and your optic. With detailed external ballistics’ classes, you’ll learn how to compensate for changes in barometric pressure, temperature, and altitude.

At each course, VX will provide you with a "weather-proof" Data Card. For each course at VX, you will get the opportunity to record "hard data," which means that you will be able to record every single elevation adjustment that is required with your firearm to hit each target within "minute of angle" in increments of 50 yards from 100-1000 yards. This data card is NOT a pre-calculated ballistic chart. It is a user-friendly format that allows you to keep systematic records for each of your data shoots. Long range shooting is all about quantitative data and consistency. Here you can find out what your weapon's system is truly capable of, without relying on a ballistic's chart.

Our level 1 course covers the fundamentals of long range shooting, external ballistics, basic wind calling, and a very detailed portion on scope considerations. For each level, you will confirm your zero and shoot for data out to 1000 yards in increments of 50 yards on steel reactive targets. After your data is confirmed, you will shoot from standing, kneeling, and sitting positions from barricade structures, 4-wheelers, and tripod. This course can be as intense as you want it to be, or as casual as you want. We service recreational shooters, hunters, bench-rest shooters, and law enforcement or military snipers.
